German Parliament continues to bank on the advice of TAB

The team of TAB is very pleased that it can continue its very challenging and motivating work for the German Parliament for another contract period.

The Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment of the German Bundestag has unanimously decided in its sitting on February 27th 2013, that the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with its Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) shall continue to operate TAB, which is advising the German Parliament on matters relating to research and technology since 1990. All political fractions are in agreement that the work of TAB is of high significance for the German Bundestag. In the upcoming contract period of five years starting from August 29th 2013 KIT/ITAS will cooperate with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, the IZT – Institute for Futures Studies and Technology Assessment – and VDI/VDE Innovation and Technology (VDI/VDE-IT), both in Berlin. Together with the new partners, TAB will continue and further develop the established and successful cooperation with the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment in the next election period.
