TAB reports are regularly discussed in the plenary chamber under the dome of the Bundestag. TAB presents its projects in the Paul Löbe House (back right) or in the Marie-Elisabeth Lüders House (front right).

At its meeting on 21 June 2023, the Committee for Education, Research and Technology Assessment of the German Bundestag unanimously decided to entrust the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology with the operation of TAB until 2028.

The Bundestag's decision on the operation of TAB for the period from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2028 was preceded by a multi-stage application process, in which the advisory services offered by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) prevailed against strong competition.

We are grateful for the trust placed in us and, together with our cooperation partners - the IZT - Institute for Futures Studies and Technology Assessment gGmbH and the VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH (VDI/VDE-IT) - we look forward to working with the TA Rapporteur Group and the entire Bundestag over the next five years.

In the future, TAB will use a wider range of methods, such as digital data analysis and participatory scenario methods, to identify options for action for the parliament with even greater precision. Foresight activities with a focus on innovation and transformative resilience will be further expanded and sharpened. In addition, science communication in dialogue with politics and society will be particularly strengthened in order to increase the visibility of TA inside and outside the Bundestag.

Further information and statements on the decision can be found in the press releases of the German Bundestag and KIT.
