What was the event intended to address?

Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important in the research process, ranging from secure data management and cybersecurity capabilities within research institutions to questions of digital sovereignty and trustworthy international cooperation.

The event was intended to present and discuss the findings of the Resilience Check "Cybersecurity in the Research Process" with Members of the German Bundestag and experts from research and cybersecurity.

  • Drivers, risks, and future prospects: What factors shape cybersecurity in the research process, and where do the key vulnerabilities lie? What developments, scenarios or turning points are emerging up to 2030 and beyond?
  • Political context and need for action: What strategic significance does cybersecurity hold for the research system, and where is the most urgent need for political action?
  • Policy options and implementation: Which instruments, governance models, and incentives are suitable for strengthening cybersecurity and resilience? Which measures can realistically be implemented in the short, medium, and long term?
